Description

Didn't sleep much last night... mostly 'cause there was a leak in my kitchen ceiling, and I was waiting on the return of my emergency call to maintainance... Becca and I have a never-ending saga of woe and heartache rent with tragedy concerning our apartment's plumbing. It's... it's a thing.

So anyhow, what started as "I'll just putter with this for a half-hour or so" became "let's do another all-nighter just like ye olde dayes!! Ramen and caffiene for everyone!!".

Everyone meant just me. SHE had to sleep.

I locked out the cats and put on TV and began to draw, and the long and short is that I managed to squirt out something that might pass for okay. This is the front half of it. There is a version of this with a background now, but I only thought it was right that I should post it at Penciljack.com first, 'cause it was the 50th ongoing PJ Jamboree that got me started on this piece. It was originally just a doodle in Comic Studio, but somehow I became rapidly ambitious.I'll post the second half sometime late tonight or tomorrow, or you can go rummage around the forums at penciljack.com to check it out for yourself if you just can't wait.

NOTE

Drawn in Comic Studio EX, at 600dpi, raster layers. The only exception is the main body of the webbing, which was done as a path stroke in Photoshop and then imported as a PSD Layer into Comic Studio. I'm using a 9x12 tablet, though I did get some time with a Cintiq on this as well, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make a difference in comfort and speed. Took about 8 hours to get this far. I stuck mostly to the Maru pen and the marker tools while inking this.

I'll upload a fairly good-sized PSD later that you guys can tear into if you want to color it, with the usual rules: credits and signatures stay, and I like to get a note when you post it. Keep an eye out for it, but you might want to just wait for the full version.

Feel free to suggest changes. I might do a variant version of this with classic Captain America in place of the more Ultimate Cap styled here. If you dig Classic Cap's costume, shout about it.

My two favorites weee! :woohoo:
This is exquisite. Beautiful line work, flow of action is spot on, nice and clean.
This would make an awesome coloring book page.
Argh! Why aren’t there any good coloring books anymore?! Little kids and artistically inclined adults are missing out. :(
Well, at least you have something to show for your sleepless night, and think of all the folks you made happy with this. :) Lol just like Spidey, you suffered for the joy of others.
So how did it go with your plumbing? All better now? I hope so.
