Dueling Gloves

Been in a bit of a slump last couple nights, but I managed to wring this out. I tried pretty hard to make it a realistic design (the articulated ring plates are based on rings I actually own), but the only way that backhand plate would work is if the string that intertwines between the fingers and across the palm was made of something elastic. Also, I think perhaps the wristplate should taper a little less smoothly, or it would sag across the wrist.

I don't think this would really be articulate enough for a fencer, really... but it should protect against strikes to the wrist, hands and fingers (which is really what basket hilts were about), and worn with a chain shirt would probably be pretty effective in that regard. The fingertips on the first two fingers are open, so the wearer can have some sense of touch. I had all the fingers and the thumb open at first, but would you really expose them any more than necessary?
