I should expect not.
just kidding.
Okay, serious answer: nobody has been paying me to be an animator lately. Instead I've been drawing a lot of comics and concept work for clients.
I enjoy animation a lot, but the pervasive outsourcing overseas has largely atrophied the American industry to the point that producers don't even look at a domestic studio. If someone wants action animation, they go straight to Japan or Korea. This isn't really NEW, it's been going on for more than a decade, but at this point it's hard to be a traditional animator, much less a traditional animator who wants to do kick-ass cool action instead of cereal commercials.
Bummer btw that Korea and Japan are ripping your clients....
Animation is really time-consuming to create, and lately I've been getting more freelance gigs to supplement my studio work, which leaves me with less free time than ever. And I can do several paying illustration jobs (like the FC images I've been showing this past month) in the same time it takes to animate just a few seconds of action.
Don't worry, I haven't given up on animation. But if I'm going to start a new project, I want it to be something more than just a couple seconds of violence with no point. I've got some ideas, and I expect they'll work themselves free if they're strong enough.
And Fates is still a viable, active animation studio. But what I do there rarely gets shown on my private pages. Although I do recall some old test sequences being unearthed. Might see if I can post some of that.
I think I speak for allot of people that you uploading tests would be really nice
And your images sure are impressive, nice anatomy and stuff, really inspiring!
