The subject of the weekly Penciljack Jamboree this time around is "Hector Plasm", the excellent creation of Benito Cereno and Nate Bellegarde. Hector and his demon-hunting, ghost-seeking cohorts have appeared in the pages of Invincible and Wierd Western Tales from Image Comics.
This was scribbled out in pencil in about 10 minutes, and the color took another 10-15. I'm trying to slap down more color on things, just because I feel my Gallery (and my portfolio in general) is terribly monochrome. The character's description can be found in the Jamboree thread, which you can check out by clicking this [link] . Check out the many kick-ass pieces being posted and expect a bit more on this subject from yours truly.
Hey! I love the structure in his face, it's awesome.
And I was reading through your very accurate and informative journal entry- oh so true... I keep making heads too big (arg the bane of proportion!!!) and I know that's my problem and yet I keep doing it... maybe you can add one about the artist's own stubborn pig-headedness
...black? Or do you mean the blue highlight? This was a speedcolor, so all I did was drop white in a selection at something like 40% opacity over the very dark blue.
