I'm allowed to at least say it exists. I had to go about it the long way, but I'm finally getting to draw comics.
Will it be a graphic novel? Will it be online? I have no idea. I'm not writing it, I'm just drawing the line work and some of the layouts. The elevator pitch is "A Million Little Pieces" meets "Lost in Translation". You might have seen the animated bits online somewhere. It's like that. The final pages are in color, I know that 'cause I'm watching them being painted, but as I'm not the one doing any of the color work, my dollar gets off the bus at this stop. I love visual metaphors in my comics. Get used to that, I think I'm taking it with me. I'd like to show more pages, even offered to strip out the dialogue so the story isn't spoilt, but it turns out that This Is Not A Democracy. Also, I'm pretty sure I'd lose if it was put to the vote. This page is only allowed 'cause one of the writers posted it on his blog first. But since it's a secret blog, I'm not supposed to link to it. I think. - - - ©2009 Humouring the Fates. Drawn in Manga Studio EX v.3, Cintiq 18SX. Every page takes about 8 hours to complete, which I guess means I'm keeping up with the Joneses. I find talking heads and action pages go faster, of course. It's those damn establishing shots and backgrounds that just drive... the knife... DEEPER... Practice perspective, kids. Seriously. There's a new Fates reel coming someday. I have seen bits of it. We've done some neat stuff. |
