Joe is Japanese - pg 60-ishby *Inkthinker

A nice splash page from the ongoing graphic novel Joe is Japanese, illustrating the unfortunate unforeseen difficulties of retirement for Mista Mountain.

Pages have been updating from time to time on the site, and you can see the final full-color version of this on the site now. Lines by moi, paints by the Fates Crew. Having all the labels and posters and such filled in really helps it out. Ahhh, the laziness we line artists can get away with, these days.

I drew this about two years ago now, and a couple things bug me about it in retrospect... his arm over the stack is misproportionate, and it makes me uncomfortable just to look at it. But I did like how the curvelinear came out (don't be too impressed though, I used a grid template), and if the composition isn't as clean as it could be, the chaos at least supports the page this time.

It's page 60-ish because there's some discrepancy between the numbering of my files and the page number in the book, chapters have moved around and stuff has been inserted and so even those I've uploaded page 57 a year or so ago, and this is page 60, but this takes place before that. It's one of those 'rats in the sausage vat' situations where you're better off not knowing.
