Mistborn Adventure Game - The Nobles by Inkthinker Mistborn Adventure Game - The Nobles by Inkthinker
Crafty Games is set to release The Mistborn Adventure Game in just two short weeks! Chock full of details on the world and magic of the Mistborn series, it's as much a resource for fans of the novels as it is a game for tabletop adventurers.

I did all of the illustration work for this book, both covers and interiors. While I wish I could have done more, I tried to make what I could put together as comprehensive and book-accurate as possible.

This a set of character archetypes representing the Noble classes. Lowly house guards, specialist Hazekillers, haughty high-born power-brokers and of course, the mysterious Mistborn. I did several of these archtypical groups, including the skaa, the Steel Ministry, and more. There's a lot of detail in the linework, check out the full-size Download version.

I don't know if it made it all the way into the text, but the halberd that house guard holds is actually a tricky weapon. The head of the polearm is designed to come off the haft if it's Pulled upon by someone burning Iron, hitting them with a nasty surprise. Credit Brandon for that one.

Drawn in Manga Studio EX v3 on the 21UX. These illustrations are exclusively licensed to Crafty Games, all rights reserved.

I'm stalking through all your Mistborn drawings, trying to get the mistcloak image burned into my head. :u My attempt to draw one is, currently not going over well. They're so flowy!

It's tricky! There's a couple things you can do that help, like not making the tassels too thin and letting the mantle fall to different levels. In the book it's very loosely described, but there's no "one cut" for mistcloaks, so long as you keep to the basics (it's a cloak with a cape made of long, thin strips). Because only full Allomancers wear mistcloaks, each one would be hand-crafted, and different Houses and different Dominances allow for plenty of variety. I find that adding a hood helps a lot too, and I believe they're described both with and without hoods in the novels.

Thank you for the advice! It helped I do believe. -jabs my picture- Still a bit wonky but I suppose I just need to draw them a thousand times before it really sinks in.

These are epic, the ladies in particular. I want to play this game so bad.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Everything you draw for Brandon makes me remember why I fell in love with his book in the first place.

Very exciting! I love seeing your take on what hazekiller armour and gear looks like. In fact, solely based on that illustration I'm starting to think one of them would be very interesting to play... anyone who would take on a Misting with a wooden shield and dueling cane has to be pretty bad ass.

There's a wide range of what a dueling cane can look like... I've just offered a few variations. Odds are, whatever you had in mind is equally valid.
