Not gonna upload the whole thing anymore... for one thing, it kinda spoils it for the final version, and for another it's about to hit the 200-frame mark already.

Yeesh.

So anyhow, I'm both pleased and pissed about this part of the sequence. On the down side, I accidentally used the same layout composition (hero center right MG, antagonist camera left FG) twice in rapid succession without realising it, which is bad, very bad. I know some of you won't care, but it annoyeth me nonetheless.

On the up side, I pulled off a backflip with a 180-degree camera rotation, which ain't raisin' daisies. It'd read better with a background, of course, but that's getting ahead of ourselves at this stage. (-EDIT- upon closer examination, I realise this wasn't perfect either, since the swordsman technically flips about 90 degrees as the spearguy goes a full 180. I coulda stopped the spearman at the left FG, but then you wouldn't see his arm move as much for the pokes through the sheild gap. Oh, woes is me, waily-waily-waily... >_< )

I'm being repetetive in little ways I wasn't thinking about until now, which is a little concerning. I gots ta do something new with the angles. Mix it up a bit. But in the meantime... backflip in a 180! It's a little floaty, but any faster and the camera spin won't read. So, y'know... w00t! all the same.

:D

The usual. Easytoon, 59f at 25fps (for this clip... the total count is about 200f currently), etc. I admit freely that I got a couple ideas for spear fighting from watching the Hector/Achilles fight in Troy (only part worth watching, in my mind), and then some others from wuxia films where the spear is featured (though most of the Chinese moves involve the use of both hands, which makes things a little harder).
