Btech character that I was screwing about with. The pipes are made of heavy metal, and I liked the idea that he could snap the pipes closed, and then beat the shit out of people with them like they were a couple of ball-peen hammers.
In this day and age, though, can you still have a character that smokes? Even Wolverine put out his cigars... Nick Fury gave up the stogies... I don't even think J.J.J still smokes. If I used this character in a popular medium, I'd catch flak for sure. And a fighting character who's always chimneying... he'd have lung problems, which would affect his athleticism, right? I try to keep it somewhat real... but I just liked the idea of those pipes spinning around in his fingers, trailing smoke and smackin' down fools. What's he smokin' there?  Apparently smoking is a popular topic right now! - lol, this is beautiful, you really pulled together the two hookas without making it look at all awkward. Very nice piece with an excellently casual mood.

and that smoke is lookin' so fresh  Oh God. I love smokers! They make some of the best characters. This is such a great piece. The character looks very chilled and the clothes are kickin. I especially like the hand with the pipes. Very balanced. Great work!

I have a mental block about comics that I'm still working around. I feel that I need to understand what I'm going to do before I do it, and the problem is that I'm trying to understand a LOT. I often think that I ought to quit worrying about it and just do it, and accept that the early pages will probably contain a lot of mistakes as I learn, but just thinking that doesn't actually set pencil to paper for more than a few pages. *sigh* I'll get it. I haven't given up, I'm just obsessed with making something that I can feel proud of (which unfortunately isn't the same thing as making something that others think you should feel proud of... but it probably ought to be). I might be able to arrange something. I'll send you a Note if I do.
