Spent the first bit of today's drawing time on a little tribute to Floyd Gottfredson, writer and illustrator of the best version of Mickey Mouse ever committed to the page. I've been consuming the hell out of the four volumes Fantagraphic collected of Gottefredson's work on the daily Micky Mouse comic strip from 1930-38, and his is the version of the Mouse that I love the most... this Mickey was an ace pilot, a gunslinger, a detective, a reporter, and in his adventures he foiled air pirates, shot it out with dry-gulch bandits, outwitted opium smugglers and beat the snot out of the Phantom Blot.

He was a really bad role model for gun-safety though.

Drawn on the ol' Cintiq in Photoshop, it ought to go without saying that this is not an official work, and that Mickey Mouse and everything associated with him is a property of the Walt Disney Co.

great work if you do a WB toon in this style you should do one of a one toon character named red hot ryder

I remember Red Hot Ryder. He was only ever in that one cartoon, though, wasn't he?

yes in a cartoon called Buckaroo Bugs

if you do do one sould do it at his best as they say fully loaded, and if could be done do one as he half way thru the robbery and after he was robbed.
To this day it still amazes me that the toon was able to be relased casue of what happen to red hot ryder
